I also neglected the cardinal rule: not everyone has the same experiences as you do. I neglected to remember the entire point of an exchange such as this: the free flow of information. My response, while TECHNICALLY correct, was unfortunately delivered at the end of a flamethrower. As it was, this blog’s URL was posted as the solution to a listserv that I am a member of, and that is how I came here. Several others of you have also had the “joy” of experiencing this “feature,” and came here because you were either let here by a friend or your favorite search engine. The owner of this blog expressed an opinion that he is (rightly) entitled to regarding a feature that comes standard in newer PC’s and laptops. Actually, that would just be a big cop-out. Now I could go on and on, attributing it to lack of sleep, or long hours getting a big project ready at work, or the upcoming holidays, etc., but that isn’t quite sufficient. Where it is after that it dependent upon your video card. Start > Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced When creating a keystroke-mapped feature that only 1% of your customers will want to use and the other 99% are going to be confused by, put in a menu option to disable it and have it disabled by default. I can’t think of a good reason why I would need an always-on keystroke for this on a desktop PC. But it looks like ATI Intel copied the keystroke for the same “feature” in their video card drivers. This is a feature in Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. On my computer at work it changes the screen orientation. The Ctrl-Alt-Direction key sequence is supposed to be used for changing your workspace.
